Would it be more appropriate to use the 10 MHz ref from my 5000A Or to use the R9500 to provide the ref freq to both the IC-7800 and the 5000A Or let em all 3 run independentlyKL7FZ Ham Member QRZ Page. Both these Icom radios specify their frequency stability as +/- 0.05 ppm. I drive my Icom IC-7800 with the 10 MHz reference frequency from my Icom R9500.
Just Id bias current was shown on the LCD. Tube PA failured and than Icom did not have any TX power. And they still make you purchase the CT-17 Level converter for PC control as an extra Good GriefI lost TX power on Icom IC-7600 before ARRL SSX DX contest. HRO has them at 10,599.00. PA board is alive! Than I looked at schematic again. Than I connected generator on 14,1 MHz with 0 dBm and great, there is abot 70W at the output. There was only abt -60 dBm at the input of PA board. Than I took R&S FSL-6 with small capacitor probe and measure RF power.
Than I measured RF power at PIN diode D604. Immediately went to CW to test SWR on 24, then on 10.1, ALL OK AT 200 WATTS AND KEY DOWN 1. No problems and working great.
Not so bad for ATT, but for amp? :)Based upon the famous, world-class ICOM IC-7800, the new design of the ICOM. Instead of abt + 3 dBm at the MMIC output, there is -60 dBm. Continued to D201 which is TX way switch diode, still the same. On D601 was quite the same, so diode switching is right.
